Metal. You fetch a scrap piece of rebar and whack one small bone experimentally. It removes the black charring caused by the fire but the bone remains unmarked. The skeleton is still whole - each bone is connected by artificial tendons.
You spot a large lump near the base of the skull, conspicuously smooth and symmetrical in contrast to the bones. It has a laser-etched pictograph captioned by a string of numbers. Your knowledge of electronics is limited, but the raised track leading from the lump and winding all over the surface of the skull is clearly an antennae.
Whoever made this monstrosity will most likely want it back. And they probably won't appreciate the state it's in now.
Run. Run like the wind. (new)
